The updated rules take effect on March 23, 2026. Upon their entry into force, the previous allocation rules become void.
It became clear that the allocation rules needed to be simplified and the priorities clarified. In revising the rules, particular emphasis was placed on simplification and the efficiency of the application process.
Key changes in the updated rules:
- Fixed travel grant for international travel
The grant is intended to cover transportation costs to and from an international airport abroad. It is a fixed amount that applicants can select in the application form if they wish to apply for the grant. This simplifies the application process, as detailed invoices or proof of payment for these expenses are no longer required. - Documentation requirements
Section 4.0 outlines which documents must be submitted in order to complete the processing of an application. - 12-month application window
It is possible to apply for a grant for expenses incurred up to 12 months in the past, provided that eligibility existed at the time the expense was incurred. - Number of applications
Applicants may submit up to two applications for each project, for example one application for conference fees and airfare, and another for accommodation expenses.
